HOW
TO HELP: SPONSOR A DOG
Greyhound
Rescue Wales has found homes for hundreds of
greyhounds and lurchers. Unfortunately there are
also some that cannot be re-homed because of
their awful past experiences and these become
"long-term residents" who are cared for
permanently by foster carers. We currently have
five dogs in need of extra care and attention
and they would love to have YOU as a sponsor.
For less than £1 per week you can
help unwanted and abused greyhounds get the love
and care that they so desperately need. In
return for your ongoing support you will receive
a certificate and photograph of your dog along
with two updates each year, plus one years free
membership to Greyhound Rescue Wales.

For sponsors under the age of 18,
if you include your date of birth, you will
receive a birthday card on your special day from
your chosen dog.
Sponsorship of a dog makes an
original gift for anyone who cares about
animals. Sponsorship costs £50 per year or £4
per month by direct debit.

MEET PATCH, BLACKIE, MACEY, STACEY AND LADY

Lady
is an eight year old black greyhound.
Lady has been living with her foster carer for
the past three years.
Lady suffers with an
ongoing fungal nail bed infection in three of
her feet, the condition of her feet was so bad
at one time, that she had to have a toe removed
from her back right foot.
Lady needs permanent veterinary treatment to
stop her feet becoming so bad that she would
have to have more toes removed.
If Lady did not
receive this ongoing treatment, she would be in
constant pain, and unable to run happily around,
as she loves to do.
Stacey
is a beautiful tan and white greyhound with a
beautiful temperament too.
Stacey has tendon problems in her front legs and
is unable to go for long walks or run around
like her lurcher friend does that she lives
with. Stacey has to receive continuous
medication to help her with the pain in her legs
and also supplements to help her with her
mobility.
Even though Stacey can sometimes feel discomfort
from her legs her lovely temperament never
changes.
Macey
is an eleven year old white greyhound.
She originally came into GRW care 7 years ago
after racing. Due to unforeseen family
circumstances, her adopted owner was unable to
continue caring for her, so now Macey is living
with foster carers and their two greyhounds.
Because of her age, and uncertainty about her
health, it would be very difficult to find Macey
a new home, so she will continue to live with
her foster carer for the rest of her life.
Blackie
is a 3 year old black lurcher.
Blackie finds it extremely difficult to live
within a family environment due to his extreme
anxiety and nervousness around people he doesn't
know.
Blackie is now living happily with his foster
carers who are aware and able to help him with
his special needs.
Patch is a white and black greyhound who is a
very troubled boy. Patch finds it extremely
difficult to live in a home environment because
he just can't cope with the hustle and bustle of
everyday life. Patch is petrified of everything
that goes with living in a house and is much
happier in a kennel environment where he feels
safe and secure. Patch is currently in a foster
home that also has a heated kennel outside for
him, Patch spends his days between both and is a
much happier dog now than when he first came
into Grw care.
